Charles F. Hartzell, 83, widower of Faith E. (Aston) Hartzell, formerly of Green Lane, passed away, Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Allentown.
Born in Salford Township, he was a son of the late Daniel P. and Louise (Beck) Hartzell.
He served his Country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Charles was in charge of maintenance at the Green Lane Reservoir Park for 15 years before retiring in 2000. He was a member of Frieden’s United Church of Christ in Sumneytown and the Green Lane Fire Company. He was also a member of the Green Lane Marlborough Fire Police and the Palm American Legion Post 184. He enjoyed model railroading.
Surviving are a companion, Gloria F. Leskowsky of Emmaus; a son, Michael L. Hartzell and wife, Jeanette of Ladson, SC; five grandchildren, Brandon, Leah, Michael “Mikey”, Steve and Jeffrey; and a brother, Dick Hartzell of Pennsburg.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by brothers, Larry, Grover and Ralph Hartzell.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Mann-Slonaker, Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Deborah Schwartz officiating. A burial will follow in Frieden’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the services.
