Charles Brynan

July 17, 1926 — October 3, 2017

Charles W. Brynan, Jr., 91, widower of Shirley M. (Bohner) Brynan, of Henning Road, Perkiomenville, passed from life on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at home with family around him.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Charles W. Sr. and Gertrude (Brahms) Brynan.

Charles graduated from Pottstown High School and then served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He worked as a water pump mechanic at Miller Pump in Skippack until his retirement.

He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Oley.

He enjoyed photography, specifically photographing bridges and churches. He has his photo of the “Star Barn” on display in Brandywine Township Museum. He also was a clock maker for 25 years and sold them in gift shops in Eastern Pennsylvania.

Surviving are his children, Charles W. Brynan, III and wife, Barbara of Perkiomenville and Shirley M., wife of Richard Kenney of Newville, PA; four grandchildren, Carrie Brynan, Barbara, wife of Mitch Najarage, Richard Kenney, Jr. and Kathryn, wife of Karl Horst; and three great-grandchildren, Piper and Teagan Najarage, Katelynn Horst and one on the way.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by one brother and five sisters.

Services will be private.
