Charles E. Bevington, 83, of Burgundy Circle, Red Hill, formerly of Hill Road, Green Lane, died on Sunday, February 20, 2011 in his home. He was the husband of the late Bernadette (Folkman) Bevington who passed away on August 26, 2010.
Born in Johnstown, New York, he was a son of the late Charles and Marie Bevington who passed away when he was 3 and a half years old and raised by the late Francis and Marie Weber.
He worked for many years at Spring Ford Industries in Spring City serving as Chairman of the Board before retiring.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving in World War II.
He was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are five children, Jeff Bevington and his wife, Sharon of Pottstown, Thomas Bevington and his wife, Caroline of Obregon, Sonora, Mexico, Francis Bevington and his wife, Rose of Ellenboro, N.C., Charles Bevington and his wife, Susan of Boyertown and Elizabeth Bevington and her partner, Jeanette Elliott of Pottstown; four brothers, Eugene, Adolph, Leo and John; five sisters, Veronica, Martha, Mary, Coletta and Louise and eleven grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Francis and four sisters, Johanna, Dolores, Elizabeth and Virginia.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA with the Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the church.
