Carl E. Moyer, 93, husband of Dorothy M. (Heins) Moyer, of East Greenville, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Frederick Living.
Born in East Greenville, he was a son of the late Clement G. and Helen S. (Moyer) Moyer.
He was employed as a Courier for 13 years at Hill Financial retiring in 1991; previously he worked as a fitter for Bethlehem Steel in Pottstown for 34 years.
He was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Red Hill and a member and volunteer of the Upper Perk Senior Center.
Carl served as a Staff Sgt. in the United States Army Air Force during World War II serving in the Fleet Ferry Command.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 62 years, are his children, Anne Halpin White and husband, John of Hampton Bays, NY and Thomas C. Moyer of Arvada, CO; grandson, Brandon White and several nieces. He was predeceased by his siblings, Leroy Moyer and Mary Siletta.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1244 St. Paul’s Church Rd, Pennsburg, PA 18073 with Rev. William Vanderslice officiating. There will be a viewing from 9:30 am until 10:30 am Thursday at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041.
