Carl B. Lawson, 95, husband of Verna L. (Higgins) Lawson, of Collegeville, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at his home.
Born in Oracabessa, Jamaica in 1923, he was the first son of the late Bryan and Winona (Nathan) Lawson.
After moving to the United States in 1968, Carl and his wife lived in Connecticut for 30 years before making the move in 2004 to Collegeville. Carl worked in sales as a business broker for VR Business Brokers in Fairfield, CT before retiring.
Carl was active in the Gideons Organization and was a member of New Hanover United Methodist Church in Gilbertsville and Royersford United Methodist Church.
Surviving along with his wife of 54 years, are his children, Errol Lawson and wife, Yvonne, Paul Lawson and wife, Cindy, Carlene Lawson, Chrissyanne Lawson, and Cheryl Lawson; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brothers, Rudyard Lawson and Maxwell Nelson; a sister, Dawn Lawson Reid; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at New Hanover United Methodist Church, 2211 Swamp Pike, Gilbertsville, PA 19525 with Revs. David Lewis and Gil Vining officiating. A burial will follow in Falkner Swamp Cemetery, Gilbertsville, PA. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 11:00 to 12:45 PM at the church prior to the service.
