Camillo Volpi

July 18, 1927 — January 31, 2015

Camillo P. “Dolph” Volpi, 87, husband of Mary T. (Rausher) Volpi, of Perkiomenville and formerly of Belmont Hills, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Abington Memorial Hospital.

Born in Penn Valley, PA, he was a son of the late Vincenzo and Antonetta M. (Marcozzi) Volpi.

Camillo was a graduate of Lower Merion High School.

He worked for 29 years as a Lieutenant of Police for the Lower Merion Police department.

Camillo was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Pennsburg; the Fraternal Order of Police and Mountain Spot Hunting Club, of which he was a founder.

He served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army in the late 1940’s.

Surviving along with his wife of 65 years are four children; son, David Volpi and his wife, MaryAnne of Elverson; daughter, Diane Gibfried and her husband, Gordon of Belmont Hills, daughter, Marianne Fragment and her husband, Lou of Belmont Hills; daughter Joan DiCicco and her husband, Marty of Sassamansville; siblings, Vincent Volpi and wife, Suzi of Wayne and Olga Volpi of Paoli; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Rose Belsito.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally, PA with Rev. Thomas M. Higgins officiating. Burial will be private. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the mass. The Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville is in charge of the arrangements. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
