Calvin M. Koffel, 79, husband of Theresa M. (Griffo) Koffel, of Richland Meadows, Quakertown, died Sunday, February 5, 2012 in his home. He and his wife celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 2nd.
Born in Lansdale, he was a son of the late Russel and Sara (Minninger) Koffel.
He was a Master Plumber at Quakertown Community Hospital for 15 years retiring in 1994. Prior to that he owned Calvin M. Koffel & Sons Plumbing and Heating for 30 years.
He was a member of Frieden’s United Church of Christ where he served on the church consistory and he was a 1950 graduate of Souderton High School.
Surviving along with his wife are three children, Craig S. Koffel and wife, Frances Lopez-Koffel of Pennsburg, Dennis S. Koffel of Quakertown and Cynthia L., wife of James L. Dise, Jr. of Pennsburg; five grandchildren, Joseph Koffel, Calvin Hrycko and wife, Victoria, Elizabeth Hrycko and fiancé, Nate Cobb, James L. Dise, III and wife, Angela and Jennifer Dise and five great grandchildren, Abigail Dise, Aiden Caputa and Valerie, Matthew and Conner Cobb. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a sister, Catherine Bazzel and a brother, Russel Koffel.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Frieden’s UCC, 1011 Church Road, Sumneytown with Rev. Cheryl A. Stoneback officiating. Family and friends are invited to a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at church.
