Beverly A. (Landis) Young, 58, of Walnut Lane, Perkiomenville died unexpectedly on January 6, 2011 at her home. She was the wife of John R. Young celebrating 36 years of marriage on April 20, 2010.
Born in Skippack, she was a daughter of the late Lester G. and Doris (Hunsicker) Landis.
She worked for the past 21 years for the Perkiomen Valley School District as a kindergarten aide and previously as a parent volunteer.
She was a member or Zwingli United Church of Christ in Souderton and also attended St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Obelisk.
Surviving along with her husband, are four children, Lori J., wife of Lee Rose of Perkiomenville, Christopher J. R. Young of Pennsburg, Steven B. Young and wife, Sophia of Pennsburg and Amy M. Young, fiancée of Christopher Brisar of Schwenksville; two sisters, Shirley Westbrook of Canada and Carol, wife of James Wetherill of Maryland and three grandchildren, Kylee S. Rose, Garrett J. Young and Brianna L. Young with a fourth grandchild expected in March.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Rt. 73 and Neiffer Road, Obelisk with Pastor Arlene K. Greenwald officiating and assisted by Rev. Mary Etta Mest. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family after the service in the fellowship hall of the church. Arrangements are by Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home.
