Betty Rader

April 24, 1931 — November 8, 2018

Betty M. (Freed) Cashatt Rader, 87, widow of Marlin R. Rader, formerly of Palm, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018 in Quakertown Center.

Born in Red Hill, she was a daughter of the late James O. and Ella (Brey) Freed.

Betty was the first female mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in the Pennsburg and Red Hill areas.

She was a longtime member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Tod Cashatt of Boyertown, Mark J. Cashatt and wife, Donna, of Hatfield and Susan L. Smith and husband, Jeffery of Pennsburg; 8 grandchildren, Corinne Kulp, Joshua Cashatt, Courtney Shea, Mitchell Cashatt, Kelsey Kelvy, Erin Smith, Shane Smith and Chelsea Greco and 5 great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018 at New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA 18041 with the Rev. Ryan Travis officiating. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial follows in New Goshenhoppen Cemetery.
