Betty L. (Bernhard) Hoffman, 79, of Indian Lane, Boyertown, died Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Manatawny Manor, Pottstown. She was the wife of Stanley Hoffman celebrating 59 years of marriage in May.
Born in Pennsburg, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Kathrine (Slonaker) Bernhard.
She was a homemaker, dedicated wife and mother, and loving friend to all who knew her. She served in many different capacities at Christ Lutheran Church in Niantic where she was a lifelong member.
Surviving along with her husband, are six children, Debra L., widow of Thomas Pienta of Sanatoga, Craig S. Hoffman and wife, Paula of Boyertown, Philip K. Hoffman and wife, Denise of Boyertown, Glenn D. Hoffman and wife, Tammy of Gilbertsville, Matthew D. Hoffman and wife, Dawn of Douglassville and Joanne E. Hoffman and Life Partner, Jennifer Fox of Maple Shade, NJ; two sisters, Shirley, widow of Homer Hoffman of Barto and Nancy, wife of Lawrence Moser of Bally; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by siblings, Arlan, Henry “Mickey” and Alice.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Monday at Christ Lutheran Church, with Rev. Matthew Ollikainen officiating. Burial follows in Christ Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday evening at the Mann- Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville.
