Bessie A. (Leh) Gaugler, 102, widow of Harvey A. Gaugler, of Barto, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at home.
Born in East Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Florence (Eck) Leh.
She worked as a Production Worker at the former West Factory in Pennsburg; prior to that she waitressed at Mountain Lake House Hotel and Restaurant in Stroudsburg for several years.
Bessie was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, East Greenville and enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Surviving are three children, Harvey F. Gaugler husband of Loretta of Barto; Gail Gibson of Barto and Geraldine Frye of Columbus, OH; daughter-in-law, Laura Gaugler of Pennsburg; brother-in-law, Jack Rutz of Virginia; 10 grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a son, Gary Gaugler and three sisters, Janet Fetterman, Erma Shaner and Shirley Rutz.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville. Burial follows in the church cemetery.
