Bertha Leister

Bertha A. (Haring) Leister, 92, of Boyertown, passed away on April 1, 2025 at her home. She was the widow of the late Paul L. Leister, Sr.

She was born in Boyertown, one of 18 children born to the late Harvey and Maria (Levan) Haring. Bertha was a devoted wife and mother while raising her children. She delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved time spending time at their mountain retreat in Potter County. Bertha was a life member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Boyertown, PA.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Barbara (late Robert) Troxel, Paul Jr. (Judy) Leister, Nancy Leister, Randall Leister and Brian Leister; siblings: Ruthann (Harvey) Pennypacker, Daniel Haring, Maryellen Sonders and Lester Haring; grandchildren: Scott (Wendy) Sheetz, Brandon Troxel, Kelly (Josh) Heimbach, Becky Kohr, Tracey (Greg) Detwiler, Tiffany (John) Cappellano; Tammy (Judd) Eisenhard, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son: Gary (Patricia) Leister and siblings: Betty Brunner, Annamarie Ludwig, Marguerite Willman, Sarah, Eugene, Melvin, Edwin, Raymond, Carl, Robert, Charles, Jimmy and Harvey Haring Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd U.C.C., 35 W. Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown, PA 19512 with Rev. Robert Ziehmer officiating. Family and Friends will be received from 10-11 AM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Good Shepherd UCC Memorial Fund at the above address. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville, PA.
