June 23, 1924 — February 25, 2011

Ben F. Finkbeiner, 86, husband of Mary T. (Zappas) Finkbeiner for 61 years on June 25, formerly of Barnegat, Chalfont and Red Hill, died Friday, February 25, 2011 in Pennsburg Manor.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late John G. and Augusta (Schenkin) Finkbeiner.

He was a Tool and Die Designer and Engineer retiring in 1989.

He was a World War II Army Veteran.

He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Fish Hawks in Barnegat, NJ.

Surviving along with his wife, are four children, Mary Lou, wife of David E. Proffit of Pennsburg, Tricia M., wife of Bob L. Strassler of Doylestown, Michael J. Finkbeiner of Horsham and Joy A., wife of John C. Ginanni of Pennsburg; five grandchildren, Brian and Alison Proffit, Robert and Wendy Strassler and Alex Moll and two great grandchildren, Andrew and Samantha Profitt. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, John H. Finkbeiner.

A Memorial Service will be held 12 noon on Monday, March 7, 2011 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Rev. Robert A. Roncase, Pastor of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church officiating. Family and friends may call 11 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.
