Arthur Leon Litschke, 83, of Ellenton, Florida, formerly of Macungie; died on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Manatee Hospital, Bradenton, FL. He was the husband of Betty (Dillinger) Litschke and widower of Arlene Mae (Hilbert) Litschke.
Born in Alburtis, PA, he was a son of the late Foster and Katie (Melcher) Litschke.
He was a 20 year veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam before retiring in 1978.
Surviving along with his wife are 3 children, Brenda Kline and husband, Gary of Hereford, Lori Hoffman and husband, Carl of Alburtis and Daniel Litschke and wife, Shryl of Macungie; 3 step-children, Floyd Warren of Sarasota FL, Margie Williams and husband, Fletcher of Miami, FL and Sandra Warren of Calif; 2 sisters, Pauline Reinhart and husband, Robert of Walnutown, PA and Jean Dangler of Utah; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great grandchildren. Along with his parents and first wife, he is predeceased by a daughter, Linda Bassler, brother, Richard Litschke and infant brother, Daniel and a sister, Evelyn Reppert.
A memorial service with full military honors will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA with Rev. Dr. Deborah Rahn Clemens officiating. Interment will follow in New Goshenhoppen Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
