Arlene I. (Smink) Stevens, 82, widow of Richard H. Stevens, formerly of Pennsburg and Milford Township died peacefully Tuesday, January 18, 2012 at the Quakertown Center where she had been living.
Born in Ranshaw, PA, she was a daughter of the late Chester A. and Mildred P. (Rhoades) Smink. She worked as an Occupational Tax Assessor for the Quakertown School District for 14 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Tabor United Methodist Church, Woxall, PA a life member of the Marine Corps. Ladies Auxiliary, Chapel of The Four Chaplains, Valley Forge, PA, and was a 1947 graduate of Coal Township High School, Northumberland County.
Surviving are two sons, Michael C. Stevens of Bally, PA and Keith R. Stevens and wife, Gail of Quakertown, PA; a sister, Faye P. Kapplan of Iowa; three grandchildren, Michael C. Stevens, II, Sarah M. Stevens and Nia L. Stevens. Along with her husband and parents she was predeceased by a sister, Cleo Rodano.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with the Rev. Blaik J. Westhoff, Pastor of Tabor United Methodist Church, Woxall, PA officiating. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
