Anne A. (Ackerman) Snell, 57, of Lower Milford Township, Coopersburg, passed away on Monday June 2, 2014 at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA. She was the wife of James J. Snell, celebrating 31 years of marriage on October 9, 2013.
Born in Hazleton, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Mary (O’Rourke) Ackerman.
Anne was a Family and Consumer Science Teacher for the past 35 years at Southern Lehigh School District. She graduated in 1974 from West Hazleton High School, earned a Teaching Degree from Penn State in 1978 and received her Master’s Degree in 2010 from Wilkes University.
She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Limeport and served as an Assistant Girl Scout Leader for several years.
Surviving along with her husband are her twin daughters, Kristin A. Snell and Ashley K. Snell and her fiancé, Brendan S. Myers, all of Coopersburg; and eight brothers and sisters, John, William, Joseph, Charles and Edward Ackerman, Patrice Hoskins, Kathryn Ackerman Schwartz and Mary Beth Wolfe.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5050 St. Joseph’s Road, Coopersburg, PA 18036 with Rev. Thomas Buckley officiating. Burial follows in the church’s cemetery at Calvary Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday evening at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA and also from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.
