Anna Jane (Slonaker) Landis, of Bechtelsville, formerly of Sassamansville, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Penn State Health- St. Joseph Medical in Reading, PA at the age of 88. She was the loving wife of the late Roger L. Landis, sharing 61 years of marriage together before his passing in 2011.
Born in Boyertown on July 4th 1931, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Katie (Hoffman) Slonaker.
Anna Jane ran a hair salon and bakery out of her home in Sassamansville for many years until she retired in 1977.She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boyertown where she enjoyed playing cards with the church card club. She was also a former member of Pikeville Sportsman’s Association.
She had the privilege to travel all around the United States and she loved to camp, play her organ, paint china and porcelain, and quilt. However, one of her greatest passions and talents was counted cross stitching. She made beautiful stitched pictures for many family members throughout her life that are deeply cherished.
She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Contant and Paulette Minnich; four grandchildren, Claudine and her husband, Joe, Erika, Philip and Elizabeth; three great-grandchildren, Amanda, Jared and Isabella; and a great-great-grandchild on the way. She is predeceased by her four siblings, Earl, Leroy and John Slonaker and Pearl Fisher.
