Althea K. (Batman) Derr, 95, of Pennsburg, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest. She was the loving wife of the late Lloyd W. Derr.
She was born on November 2, 1923 in Zionsville to the late Joseph and Elsie (Kulp) Batman.
Althea was employed at Knoll, Inc. in East Greenville for many years and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Red Hill.
She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and enjoyed gardening, mowing with her John Deere tractor, spending time with family and friends and in her earlier years, she enjoyed fishing at the shore, going to the mountains, and traveling.
Surviving are her daughter, Doris J. Keller; her grandson, Derrek W. Keller, and wife, Jacqui; her two great-grandchildren, Owen W. and Julia Anne Keller; and her brother Paul Batman and wife, Mary.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a granddaughter, Deanne L. Keller; son-in-law, W. Donald Keller; sisters and brothers, Harvey, Beulah, Earl, Pearl, Virginia and Dorothy; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2019 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Rebecca Schanely officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Sassamansville. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
