Albert C. McCrae, Sr.
Albert C. McCrae, 81, husband of Helen E. (Fischer) McCrae, of Pennsburg, and formerly of Philadelphia, celebrating 59 years of marriage on September 26, died Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Albert C. McCrae and Catherine (Rost) McCrae.
He worked as a refrigeration mechanic for Pierce Phelps and M & S Vending. He earned his lethal weapons specialist credentials and then worked as a bodyguard, as Al’s Bodyguard Services.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a Sergeant during the Korean Conflict, earning a Korean Service, U.N. Service, 3 Bronze Stars, and Good Conduct Medals.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Spinnerstown, V.F.W., Red Hill.
He especially loved his family and friends and will be sadly missed by his wife; sons, Albert C. McCrae, Jr. of Quakertown, and Matthew P. McCrae husband of Amy L. of Emmaus; a daughter, Lori K. Tallent wife of Frank of Havertown; a grandson, Dustin C. McCrae of Arlington, VA.
Funeral services are private at the convenience of the family. Private interment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Spinnerstown.
