Albert Letting, Jr., 89, husband of Lorraine Alice (Shanosk) Letting, of Boyertown, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Pennsburg Manor.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Albert and Margaret Alice (Robinson) Letting.
Albert attended old Northeast High School in Philadelphia and then graduated from Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades in Media, Pa.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II with Construction Battalion 33 (Sea Bees) as a Carpenter’s Mate, primarily serving in post-war Japan re-constructing buildings and airstrips.
Albert later completed his Masters in Education at University of Pennsylvania and was an Industrial Arts teacher for 30 years.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 69 years are four children, Lorraine Beck and husband, Kenneth of Barto; James Letting and wife, Emilie of Perkasie; Dr. Albert Letting, III, and wife, Pilo of Conroe, TX; Steven Letting and wife, Helen of Sanatoga; 12 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie Adams.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at11:30 am on Friday April 1, 2016 at Washington Crossing National Veterans Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
