Russel Urffer, 89, beloved husband of Anne (Seneko) Urffer of Lansdale, PA whom recently celebrated 47 years of marriage, died Friday, December 25, 2009 in Golden Living Center, Lansdale, PA.

Born in Quakertown, PA he was a son of the late Claude and Stella (Heimbach) Urffer.

He retired in 1984 as plant superintendent after being employed for 37 years at American Olean Tile. He was a member of Trinity Great Swamp UCC, Spinnerstown. Russel was a World War II United States Army veteran.

Surviving along with his wife are two sons, Russel Urffer, Jr., husband of Mary of Etters, PA; and Gregory W. Urffer, husband of Janice of Sellersville, PA; a step-son, Joseph Halchuk, husband of Linda of Lake Ariel, PA and fourteen loving grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Russel was predeceased by two brothers, Rev. Robert Urffer and Arthur Urffer, and three sisters, Ada Weiss, Helen Klausfelder, and Evelyn Weiss.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Trinity Great Swamp U.C.C., 9150 Spinnerstown Road, P.O. Box 494, Spinnerstown, PA 18968. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church. Arrangements were made by the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville.
