Obituary for Sheila S. Anderson (Whitehair)

Sheila S.  Anderson (Whitehair)
Sheila S. (Whitehair) Anderson, 62, of Pottstown, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Jefferson Neuroscience Center in Philadelphia.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Evellyn (Alkire) Whitehair.

She earned an associate degree from Bucks County Community College and was a registered nurse for over 30 years working at Montgomery Hospital, Graduate Hospital, Pottstown Hospital-Tower Health and most recently Dedicated Nursing Associates. She also owned and operated A lot 4 Not Consignment Shop in Pottstown.

Sheila was a woman of faith, loved the beach, reading, shopping, playing bingo, Elvis, coffee and the Philadelphia Eagles; but above all of this, she loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are her four children, Hope M., wife of Jeffrey Garbutt, Sr., Stacy L., wife of Drew Van Dam, Nicole A. Benzenhafer and Joseph E. Anderson; four grandchildren, Jeffrey L. Garbutt, Jr., Colby S. Van Dam, Nathan J. Van Dam and Marcell E. Benzenhafer; three brothers, Bob, Paul and Daris Whitehair; two sisters, Holly Coates and Mary Jones; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a sister, Sherry Kressler and a grandson, David John Proitte.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, August 20, 2018 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2:30 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
