Obituary for Margaret Ellen Koehler (Wurtz)
Margaret Ellen (Wurtz) Koehler, of Frederick, died July 27 at age 82. Ellen was a longtime resident of both Lansdale and Green Lane. She was the beloved wife for 62 years of Jack Koehler.
Born March 19, 1936 in Norristown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Wells) Wurtz.
Surviving along with her husband are her two children, Cynthia K. Burgunder (Mark), and Jack Michael (Yvonne); grandchildren, Dr. Lauren M., Mark G. Jr., and Ryan W Burgunder and Kyle M., Michael J, and Tyler J. Koehler
Ellen worked as a bookkeeper and administration officer before founding Bridg-It Fabricators Inc. As President, she handled many contracts on bridge construction and repair work in the Tri-State Region. Ellen was a 43 year member of the Perkiomen Chapter No. 318 Order of the Eastern Star serving as Worthy Matron, Deputy Grand Matron and holding other state wide Appointments. Ellen and Jack traveled the world and spent every winter visiting her children and grandchildren in San Diego and Tempe leaving many fond memories for all to remember.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, 1070 Church Rd., East Greenville, PA 18041. Burial will follow in church cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing the evening before on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 from 7 to 8:30 pm where an OES service will be held at 7:30 pm. A viewing will also be held on Saturday at the church from 10 to 10:45 am prior to the service
