Obituary for Ruth M. Hoppe (Lipp)
Ruth M. (Lipp) Hoppe, 67, of Bedford, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 in Pennsburg, PA after a long battle with breast cancer.
Born in Glenside, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Virginia (Havens) Lipp.
Ruth was a 1968 graduate of Abington High School and worked for Thomas Chevrolet in Bedford for over 20 years. She was a resident of Bedford County for 40 years and had a rich community of friends and chosen family. Ruth was an avid quilter, enjoyed gardening and was a lover of chocolate, flowers, and all types of music. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Ginene R., wife of Kevin Mozzone of Pennsburg, PA, Rebecca M., wife of Nathan Hershey of Denver, CO, and Robert A. Hoppe and wife, Kayla of Bedford, PA; five grandchildren, Kayla, Alexa, Joshua, Anthony, and Andrew; and one great-granddaughter, Brantley.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Sgt. Thomas S. Lipp.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 106 Penn St, Bedford, PA 15522. Family and friends are invited to a calling hour from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Ruth requested that dress be casual and colorful.
