Obituary for Stanley R. Rothenberger

Stanley R. Rothenberger, 81, of Perkiomenville, passed away peacefully, Sunday, February 11, 2018 at home after a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Irene I. (Bailey) Rothenberger, celebrating 60 years of marriage June 28, 2017.

Born in Norristown, he was a son of the late Edgar and Thelma (Gallagher) Rothenberger.

He was a graduate of Norristown High School and was the supervisor of switching services at the former Bell Telephone for 30 years before retiring.

Stanley was a life member of Sassamansville Fire Co. and the NRA. He was also a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers, Ducks and Trout Unlimited, and the Douglass Rod and Gun Club.

A world traveler and adventurer, he was able to travel to over 60 countries throughout his lifetime. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed woodworking and restoring antique slot machines.

Surviving along with his wife are three children, Roberta G., wife of Thomas W. Decker of Devon, Stanley R. Rothenberger, II of Pennsburg and Steven R. Rothenberger and wife, Judy A. of East Greenville; one granddaughter, Bailey Anne Decker of Devon; sister, Betty, wife of Jack Clausen of Gilbertsville; brother, James Rothenberger and wife, Florence of Norristown; and a son-in-law, Charles Moyer of Oley.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a daughter, Holli R. Moyer and a brother, John Rothenberger.
