Obituary for Naomi B. Rose (Long)

Naomi B. (Long) Rose, 73, of Zieglerville, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017 in Pennsburg Manor. She was the wife of John A. Rose celebrating 54 years of marriage on December 1, 2016.

Born in Worcester, she was a daughter of the late Charles I. and Bertha (Van Fossen) Long.

Naomi worked as a Waitress and Bookkeeper for the Limerick Diner for 50 years until retiring in 2007.

She was a longtime member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Obelisk, where she taught Sunday school for 50 years. She also was a longtime member of Freeland Chapter #323 Order of the Eastern Star and had served in all of the offices and was the Treasurer for the Swamp Creek Rod and Gun Club.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her son, John A. Rose, Jr. of Zieglerville and two sisters, Kathryn Moore of Schwenksville and Sara Frederick of Boyertown. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Ernest Long and three sisters, Mary Norris, Nancy McKenrick and Althea Fizz.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 with the Rev. Paul E. Chapman officiating. Burial follows in Limerick Garden of Memories. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 10:45 a.m. followed by an Eastern Star Funeral Service at 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
