Obituary for Sharon M. Stevens-Samios (Simon)

Sharon M. (Simon) Stevens-Samios, 54, of Green Lane, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the University of Pennsylvania. She was the wife of John Samios, celebrating seven years of marriage this past August.

Born in Sellersville, Pa, she was the daughter of Margaret (Copeland) Simon of Green Lane and the late Stanford C. Simon.

Sharon graduated from Upper Perk in 1980 and received her associate degree in Nursing from Lehigh Carbon Community College. She worked as a nurse, manager of clinical operations and in risk management for Genesis Healthcare for almost 30 years.

Sharon was a beautiful soul. A woman of great strength that touched every life she encountered and surpassed expectations for every role; a friend, a mother, a wife. She took leaps of faith in life that demonstrated she was not afraid to live. She loved to travel, found peace in nature whether it be fishing with her son, walks with her daughter, or exploring new places with her husband. She enjoyed karaoke, dancing, doing puzzles, advocating for others, and any opportunity at building memories with the ones she loved. A princess with a true heart of gold, Sharon found most important her faith in God, and enjoyed sharing that goodness with those she met, a blessing that we will always remember.

In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by her children, Michael C. Stevens and wife, Shelby of Huff’s Church and Sarah M. Stevens of North Wales; one grandson, Grant; a brother, Rick T. Simon and wife, Susan of Pennsburg; and a niece, Andrea J. Simon.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Christ Lutheran Church-Niantic, 222 Niantic Road, Barto, PA 19504 with Rev. Timothy Kriebel officiating. Burial follows in Frieden’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. at church prior to the service. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the The National Centre for Padre Pio, PO BOX 206, Barto, PA 19504.
