Obituary for Edward L. Reed Sr.
Edward L. Reed, Sr., 96, husband of Susan E. (Somers) Reed of Pennsburg, passed away at Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown, PA.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William H. and Ida Mae (Jonas) Reed.
He worked most of his life as a sheet metal mechanic in various jobs before working at Cutler Sign Company in Philadelphia. Edward was the founder of Reed Sign Company in Pennsburg.
He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pennsburg.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 75 years, are sons, Edward L. Reed, Jr. and wife, Elaine H. of Macungie, Robert A. Reed, Sr. and wife, Linda S. of Red Hill and Ronald E. Reed and wife, Wanda L. of Pennsburg; grandchildren, Edward T. Reed, Denise E. Schwind, Debra L. Long, Jennifer L. Duka, Robert A. Reed, Jr., Jason S. Reed and Kristin N. Ott; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.
