Anthony J.  Amato
Anthony J. Amato, 68, of Dale Road, Barto, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015 in Quakertown Center.

Born in New York City, he was a son of the late Anthony W. and Mary (Nobile) Amato.

He was an engineer at Bethlehem Steel for 25 years.

Anthony was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in Vietnam and a member of the V.F.W. Post 5954 in Red Hill.

He was a member of the United Parachute Club in Gilbertsville and enjoyed bicycling and weight lifting.

Surviving are a daughter, Elyse Davis Amato of Ashland, PA; two brothers, Nathan Amato, Sr. and his wife, Tammy of Macungie and Frank Amato and his wife, Patti of Allentown and a sister, Laurie Jean, wife of Tony Mercado of Harleysville. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Paul.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Rev. Kevin P. Schultz, Pastor of Salem Bible Church, Macungie officiating. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
