Obituary for Jane R. Yoder (Ruth)
Jane R. (Ruth) Yoder, 87, widow of Herbert S. Yoder, formerly of Green Lane, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015, at Peter Becker Community in Harleysville, PA.
Born in Lansdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Norman S. and Ella Mae (Schwager) Ruth.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sumneytown.
Jane was the secretary and bookkeeper for Yoder’s Market in Green Lane for many years. She also was a member of the Altar Guild at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her two children, Barry H. Yoder and wife Debbie K. of Pennsburg, PA and Cindy L. Gery and husband Dennis L. of Athens, PA; six grandchildren, Cheryl Hall, Wendy Murphy, Bryan and Bradley Yoder, and Troy and Randy Gery; six great-grandchildren, Samuel and Makenna Murphy, Abigail and Allison Hall, and Kaleb and Brayden Gery. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by one daughter, Bonnie Moyer; a grandson Daryl J. Moyer; four sisters, Dorothy Kriebel, Naomi S. Yoder, Mildred Yoder, and Margaret Frick; and one brother, William Ruth.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, September 10, 2015, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3104 Main Street, Sumneytown, PA, with the Rev. Rebecca Eisenhart officiating. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 11 to 12 noon Thursday at the church, prior to the service. Burial will follow at Frieden’s Union Cemetery.
