Kathryn W.  Johnson (Watson)
Kathryn W. (Watson) Johnson, 92, of Gilbertsville and formerly of Centre Square and Perkiomenville, wife of the late Harry J. Johnson, Sr., was surrounded by her loved ones as she passed on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Pennsburg Manor.

Born in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Pierce and Elizabeth (Kulp) Watson.

She was a 1940 graduate of Norristown High School and a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Niantic.

Kathryn was a homemaker but in the 1950’s worked as a Production Welder for Western Transcoil in Worcester. Additionally, she spent 15 years working as a Sales Clerk in the Sewing Department at Sears in Norristown.

She was a former member of the Belfry Belle’s in Centre Square and the Fans of Notre Dame. She volunteered at Mercy Suburban Hospital in Norristown and quilted at Christ Lutheran Church in Kulpsvlle.

She loved flowers, especially irises, reading, sewing, watching the Phillies, and rooting for her favorite NASCAR driver.

Surviving are her children, Harry J. Johnson, Jr. and his wife, Cosie, of Helmville, MT; Donna, wife of George Bernhardt of Gilbertsville; Kathryn, wife of Leroy Miller of Dandridge, TN; Deborah Fisher, companion of Vince Festa, of Temple; nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and three great-grand cats. She was preceded in death, by a sister, Dorothy Sherry.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Rev. Matthew Ollikainen officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
