Obituary for William E. Overholtzer Jr.

William E.  Overholtzer Jr.
William E. Overholtzer, Jr., 81, husband of Beverly J. (Radcliff) Overholtzer, of Lansdale, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Abington Lansdale Hospital.

Born in Pennsburg, he was the son of the late Dorothy (Hoffman) and William E. Overholtzer, Sr.

William was a Pennsburg High School graduate, and a Temple University Graduate with an Associate’s degree in Electronics. He worked as a supervisor for 39 years before retiring from the former Philco Ford Co. of Lansdale.

He attended Calvary Baptist Church, Lansdale. Was a member of Souderton/Harleysville Fish & Game Assoc. and Fairmount Fire Co., where he served as a fire policeman.

He was a Hamm radio operator and was part of REACT.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 53 years is his daughter, Wendy, wife of Steven Yerkes, Sr. of Quakertown; three grandchildren, David Overholtzer; Steven Yerkes, Jr. and his wife, Ashley; and Samuel Yerkes. He was predeceased by a son, Scott S. Overholtzer.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home Inc., 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, with Rev. Kevin Babcock officiating. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until 11 am Thursday at the funeral home. Burial follows in New Goshenhoppen Cemetery. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
