Obituary for Albert O. "Bert (Tangue) " Van Anglen

Albert O. "Bert (Tangue) "  Van Anglen
Albert O. “Bert” (Tangue) Van Anglen, 62, husband of Mariellen M. (Schreiner) Van Anglen, of Gilbertsville, passed away on July 1, 2013 at Seasons Hospice at Phoenixville Hospital.

Born in New Orleans, LA, he was the son of the late Marilyn M. (Morrison) and Erik S. Van Anglen, Sr. and his late father, Albert O. Tangue, Jr.

Bert was a 1969 graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy and worked as a Driver Examiner for the PA Dept. of Motor Vehicles in Norristown for the past two years and had been a driver for the Teamsters Union Local #384 in Norristown for many years.

He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where he was in the adult choir. He also was a member and former Commodore of The Nockamixon Sail Club and a Democratic Committee Leader.

Surviving along with his wife are three daughters, Erin E. Van Anglen of New York, NY, Sarah S., wife of James R. Brinckman of Pennsburg and Lauren L. Van Anglen of Philadelphia; siblings, Aimee L, wife of David A. Tarsa of Hubbardton, VT, Erik S. Van Anglen, Jr. and wife, Carol of Mounds, OK and Heidi V., wife of Frederick C. Frayer of Malvern; aunt, Annie Fredricks of Mandeville, LA and a cousin, Ann Clay Reinerts of Houston, TX. Along with his parents he is predeceased by a son, Andrew T. Van Anglen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally, PA 19503 officiating. Burial follows in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville and also from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday morning at church.
